The story of a short and sustainable supply chain
VOL Ortofrutta, an acronym for the Italian phrase "Value of Local Origin," has been operating for more than 20 years in the fruit and vegetable marketing sector: initially providing services to support a few Veronese farms, then, since 2014, as a full-fledged enterprise.
We deal in fresh horticultural and fruit products, collaborating with directly controlled specialized farms. A few kilometers from our headquarters, there are more than 60,000 square meters of ultramodern technology greenhouses, an ideal place for growing zero-residue vegetables during all 12 months of the year and for both early and off-season production.
Our philosophy is to offer sustainably produced and short supply chain vegetables, while maintaining strong geographical and historical ties to the area of production. We aim to develop ever greater integration between production and processing, with innovative agricultural production processes with limited environmental impact.
One of the main strengths is definitely our production chain, with farms closely linked to VOL Ortofrutta for several generations. In this way, we have the ability to directly control production and product quality. In addition, we wanted to invest heavily in generational turnover, putting young farmers on the farms and in the offices, thus guaranteeing us a stable and continuous future.
All this allows us to adapt to the new challenges of the agricultural market, while always keeping quality and sustainability of production at the center.
